Pur promettendo ulteriori dettagli al prossimo evento Consumer Electronics Show (CES) di Las Vegas (8-11 gennaio 2013), occasione in cui saranno mostrati anche i primi prodotti, almeno in stato prototipale, Plextor ha affermato che una simile decisione è stata presa in virtù del successo degli SSD M5 Pro, che il maker ritiene essere tali da collocarsi tra le unità a stato solito con interfaccia SATA 6Gbps più veloci sul mercato.
