ATI e Nokia hanno annunciato di aver messo a punto una sinergia che vedrà le due aziende impegnate insieme nel settore dello sviluppo della tecnologia mobile al fine di migliorare le "esperienze multimediali dei consumatori".

La collaborazione è volta, in particolare, a incrementare la qualità delle prestazioni multimediali delle device portatili (in primis i telefonini ma non solo): la riproduzione audio e video, il 3D gaming e la TV mobile sono i principali aspetti a cui sarà dedicato il lavoro dei due giganti dell'elettronica.

L'accordo ha decorrenza immediata: "tra 12 mesi, o al più tardi 18" arriveranno sul mercato i primi prodotti frutto della nuova partnership.

Specifically, ATI aims to provide a dedicated tools chain and software development kit (SDK) for developers in the fall of 2006. ATI and Nokia will also hold a series of joint workshops in the second half of this year to showcase the environment to key developers.
