Vista ha annunciato, mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, la realizzazione del chip-set 671FX, finalizzato alla implementazione di motherboard Windows Vista Ready e dotate di supporto per i processori Core 2 Duo di Intel.

La nuova soluzione di SiS ha dalla sua un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo; consente l'impostazione di una frequenza di FSB fino a 1066MHz, supporta le connettività PCI-E, PCI, SATA, USB2.0 e Gigabit Ethernet.

SiS671FX integra un sottosistema grafico basato sulla tecnologia proprietaria Mirage 3, che è compatibile con le DirectX 9 di Microsoft: tuttavia è in grado di gestire una scheda grafica in standard PCI-Express x16 mediante uno slot dedicato.

Following the development of Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, SiS proudly unveiled its latest SiS671FX chipset supporting this next-generation OS in Q4, 2006. The SiS671FX chipset is for Intel desktop PCs platform, and it aims to provide outstanding system performance by supporting Windows Vista. It supports Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and also supports FSB up to 1066MHz. Besides, the SiS671FX chipset integrates Mirage 3 graphics engine to provide DX9.0 hardware support and extremely advanced 2D and 3D graphics effects.
