Changes In 6.09.28 :
- Improved driver support: Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit now supported
- New driver naming convention, detailed in full release notes
- Supports games & applications built on AGEIA PhysX SDK 2.6 (see SDK enhancements below)
SDK 2.6 enhancements
- Hardware/Software Cloth
- New deformable objects with impact shape re-tension leveraging cloth based metal - a combination of deformable cloth and non-deformable rigid body, useful for sheet metal and other deformable objects.
- New cloth self collision technology, allowing much more realistic cloth interaction and movement.
Hardware/Software Rigid Bodies
- New joint projection mode
- A new stack overflow protection scheme
Hardware Fluids
- Fluid collision improvements
- New static and dynamic cooking methods
- Improved particle sub-system
- New runtime switches for controlling simulation fidelity
- Fluids emitters are now attached to shapes not actors
Hardware Scene Manager (HSM)
- The HSM now uses Compartments, allowing the utilization of multiple PhysX cards in future versions.
- The interface of the HSM has been completely revised.
Performance
- The performance improvement of scenes with some types of extensive activity.
- Fluid collision performance improved, especially for dynamic convex shapes.
