Con il comunicato stata di seguito allegato, AMD ha annunciato due nuovi processori per desktop AM2+/AM3 nell'ambito della gamma Black Edition, il six-core AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition e il dual-core AMD Phenom II X2 565 Black Edition.
Il Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition è un prodotto destinato a collocarsi al top della categoria di appartenenza; è caratterizzato da una frequenza di clock per core pari a 3.33Ghz, che sale a 3.7GHz in modalità Turbo Core, da una cache L2 di 6 x 512KB e una cache L3 da 6MB. Il TDP è pari a 125W in condizioni di default, mentre una feature di grande interesse per gli overclocker è la dotazione di un moltiplicatore sbloccato.
Il Phenom II X2 565 Black Edition presenta invece una frequenza di clock per core pari a ben 3.4Ghz, 2 x 512KB di cache L2 e 6MB di cache L3. Anche in questo caso siamo di fronte a un chip che supporta la tecnologia Turbo Core ed ha il moltiplicatore sbloccato.
Entrambe le nuove soluzioni sono abbinabili alle nuove piattaforme basate sui chipset della serie AMD 8 ed equipaggiate con le gpu della linea ATI Radeon HD 6000, ottenendo ottimi risultati negli ambiti HD e 3D.
