ASUS ha annunciato la sua soluzione dual-gpu di classe GeForce GTX 690 (GTX690-4GD5): la video card, di cui seguono le foto ufficiali, può vantare tutta la potenza bruta che deriva dall'equipaggiamento con due gpu della GeForce GTX 680 montate sullo stesso PCB in condizioni di default, pur operando con un TDP pari a 300W.

Tuttavia il noto vendor taiwanense sottolinea che la sua ASUS GeForce GTX 690 è pronta per offrire prestazioni al top anche in ambito overclocking grazie al sofisticato software proprietario di controllo e monitoring, ovvero GPU Tweak, che semplifica la variazione delle frequenze di clock, da un lato, e la regolazione dell'efficienza del cooler, dall'altro.

La GeForce GTX 690 di ASUS non è una soluzione overclocked by factory; le due gpu a 28nm di cui è dotata operano infatti in maniera pienamente aderente alle specifiche dettate dal design reference di NVIDIA, facendo registrare una frequenza di clock di base pari a 915MHz e una frequenza di clock di boost pari a 1019MHz.

La memoria RAM, implementata con 4GB di RAM G-DDR5, è invece caratterizzata da una frequenza di clock fisica pari a 1502MHz, mentre il collegamento con le gpu è realizzato grazie a un bus a 512-bit.

Il kit di connettori di uscita è composto da tre DVI dual-link e un mini DisplayPort, mentre la connettività con le device di output di tipo HDMI è effettuabile con l'ausilio di un dongole DVD -> HDMI.

E se tanta potenza non dovesse bastare è sempre possibile realizzare una configurazione multi-gpu (quattro gpu) basata su due GeForce GTX 690, collegate con l'ausilio della tecnologia NVIDIA SLI, che questa card supporta in aggiunta a NVIDIA GPU Boost, NVIDIA Surround, Adaptive Vertical Sync, Antialiasing TXAA/FXAA, DirectX 11 e OpenGL 4.2.
