Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) ha ufficializzato, mediante il comunicato stampa che vi proponiamo di seguito in lingua originale, i volumi di vendita fatti registrare dalla sua console next generation PlayStation 4 (PS4) in tutto il mondo, nel periodo compreso tra il suo lancio (che è stato effettuato in più date, in funzione dello specifico mercato) e il giorno 8 febbraio (2014).

In accordo alla PR di Sony, in tale finestra temporale sono stati venduti oltre 5.3 milioni di PlayStation 4. Ma le buone performance non si fermano a questo dato: come osserva, infatti, Andrew House, Presidente e CEO di Sony Computer Entertainment, una recente ricerca dell'agenzia specializzata statunitense NPD Group ha evidenziato che la PS4 ha superato la concorrenza, in termini di numero di unità vendute, nel mercato degli U.S. per il mese di gennaio.

E il 22 febbraio la PlayStation 4 sarà lanciata anche in Giappone.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced that the PlayStation 4 (PS4) computer entertainment system has cumulatively sold through more than 5.3 million units*1 around the world as of February 8, 2014 (JST), and is continuing to demonstrate strong growth and momentum.
