GECUBE ha annunciato, mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, la commercializzazione della scheda grafica Radeon X1600 XTreme (KO). Si tratta di un prodotto dal costo contenuto, pari a circa $80, e capace di fornire un'ampia gamma di funzionalità nella fase di riproduzione dei filmati (uscita Dual DVI con risoluzione video fino a 2560 x 1600, uscita VGA con risoluzione video fino a 2048 x 1536 e supporto della tecnologia AVIVO).

Le prestazioni in ambito gaming non sono esaltanti: pur essendo uguale a 570Mhz il clock della gpu, raffreddata con un cooler particolarmente silenzioso e dunque adatto alla realizzazione di pc "da salotto", i soli 128Mb di memoria RAM GDDR-3 causano una rapida caduta della velocità del rendering al crescere del dettaglio grafico, del passo dei filtri AA e ANISO e/o della risoluzione video selezionata.
