Plextor ha diffuso un comunicato mediante il quale ha reso noto di aver arricchito la propria linea di dischi rigidi portatili (o portable hard disk drive) con due nuovi modelli siglati PX-PH08U2 (capacità di 80 GB) e PX-PH12U2 (capacità di 120GB), particolarmente compatti (81 W x 130 D x 17 H mm) e compatibili sia con il mondo PC che con quello Mac.

Gli hard drive sono collegabili all'host mediante l'interfaccia USB (1.1 o 2.0); utilizzano un disco con buffer da 8Mb e con velocità di rotazione pari a 5400rpm. Sono conformi alla normativa RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive), che prevede il divieto e la limitazione di impiego di piombo, mercurio, cadmio, cromo esavalente ed alcuni ritardanti di fiamma nelle apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche.

Arriveranno presso i negozi del circuito Plextor a Gennaio 2007.

They come pre-loaded with Plextor's specially developed version of PlexTools software for hard disks - PlexTools Professional HDD. An important feature of this utility is password protection, to keep all personal and business data safe and secure from prying eyes.

Availability and Warranty
The PX-PH08U2 and PX-PH12U2 will be available in January 2007 from the network of Plextor dealers.

They are covered by Plextor's Fast Warranty Service (2-year warranty in the EU, Norway and Switzerland (Collect & Return); 1 year in other countries). This market-leading service guarantees to have a fully operational drive back to the customer within five working days - free of charge.
