Kingston Technology Europe, la divisione europea di Kingston, si è distinta di recente per aver lanciato il flash drive USB più capiente al mondo. Il nuovo DataTraveler 300, infatti, ha una capacità di memorizzazione pari a ben 256GB ed, in quanto tale, è in grado di rappresentare un vero e proprio repository "portatile" di file.
Non sono da meno, anche se non da primato, le prestazioni in lettura e scrittura del DataTraveler 300: a tal proposito i data transfer rate massimi dichiarati dal produttore sono pari rispettivamente a 20MB/s e 10MB/s.
Il software a corredo Password Traveler Security permette di proteggere il contenuto del flash drive con una password anche in assenza dei diritti di amministratore del sistema.
Tra le altre feature del dispositivo segnaliamo la piena compatibilità con la funzionalità ReadyBoost di Windows Vista, che permette di accelerare il caricamento del Sistema Operativo in virtù della maggiore velocità di accesso ad un sottoinsieme di dati necessari per il caricamento del SO e memorizzati (caching) nel drive flash.
