NVIDIA ha annunciato ufficialmente la nuova gpu di fascia media GeForce GTX 560 Ti, con la quale il chip maker statunitense permette ai suoi partner,
operanti nel settore della produzione di schede grafiche, la realizzazione di soluzioni che puntano a sostituire dal punto di vista commerciale le attuali
GeForce GTX 460, lanciate nel corso della scorsa estate. In termini di performance, le GeForce GTX 560 Ti superano le GeForce GTX 460 di circa il 33%, in
accordo ai risultati dei benchmark comparativi eseguiti dalla stessa NVIDIA.
La GeForce GTX 560 Ti è l'ultima nata nell'ambito della linea di processori grafici "Fermi"; è naturalmente compatibile con DirectX 11 ed è dotata di pieno
supporto delle tecnologie proprietarie NVIDIA SLI, NVIDIA 3D Vision e NVIDIA Surround. Il chip include 384 CUDA core e 8 tessellation engine; il core grafico
lavora a 822MHz, anche se sono possibili varianti con frequenza di default pari a 1GHz, mentre la dotazione standard di memoria RAM (G-DDR5) è pari a 1GB. Un'altra feature evidenziata dal produttore è l'elevata predisposizione
per l'overclock, anche spinto.
NVIDIA ha reso noto inoltre il prezzo di riferimento per questa tipologia di video card, pari a $249 nel caso delle implementazioni aderenti al design reference. Le schede grafiche con gpu GeForce GTX 560 Ti sono state commercializzate, o sono in arrivo, da ASL, ASUS, Colorful, ECS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Jetway, Leadtek, MSI, Palit, Point of View, PNY, Sparkle e Zotac, tra gli altri.

Last summer, NVIDIA astounded gamers with the introduction of the GeForce GTX 460 GPU, which editors called "an incredible value". Flash forward 5 months
later, and NVIDIA is set to do it again with the immediate availability of the new GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU. With average performance that is 33% faster(ii),
