TDF annuncia: LibreOffice è stato inserito nell'AppUp Center di Intel

The Document Foundation (TDF) annuncia che LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE è disponibile all'interno dell'Intel AppUp Center, un repository di applicazioni dedicato ai PC basati su processore Intel. Intel diventa un Membro dell'Advisory Board di The Document Foundation, una struttura che fornisce support e finanziamenti al progetto.

LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE è disponibile nell'Intel AppUp Center in una versione speciale in cinque lingue: Inglese, Tesesco, Francese, Spagnolo e Italiano. In quanto applicazione validata per l'Intel AppUp Center app, LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE offre un nuovo processo di installazione trasparente, che non lascia file sul disco rigido.

"Uso LibreOffice dal primo giorno, per le mie presentazioni e per l'analisi dei dati", commenta Dawn Foster, open source community lead di Intel. "Gli sviluppatori hanno ottimizzato il codice di LibreOffice per i processori Intel, e l'inserimento nell'AppUp Center è un'ovvia conseguenza di questa attività, che ha l'obiettivo di offrire a tutti gli utenti di Ultrabook nuove e interessanti funzionalità".

"L'ingresso di Intel in The Document Foundation è una tappa estremamente importante per il progetto", afferma Gerald Pfeifer, senior director of product management di SUSE. "La possibilità di ottenere LibreOffice attraverso un altro canale, in modo che un numero sempre più ampio di utenti Windows possa accedere al software e usufruire dei servizi di supporto professionale offerti da SUSE, per ottenere la stessa produttività con un significativo risparmio sui costi".

The Document Foundation (TDF) today announced LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE is now available in the Intel AppUp Center, an online repository designed for Intel processor-based devices. Intel is also becoming a member of TDF Advisory Board, a body that provides advice and funding for the LibreOffice project.

LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE is available in Intel AppUp Center as a special, five-language version featuring English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. As a validated Intel AppUp Center app, LibreOffice for Windows from SUSE features a new, smooth, silent installation flow and improved uninstallation cleanup.

"I have been using LibreOffice from day one for presentations at conferences and for data analysis," said Dawn Foster, open source community lead, Intel. "Our engineers have worked with the LibreOffice codebase to optimise it for Intel hardware. Adding it to the AppUp Center is an obvious extension, and will provide an exciting feature for all Ultrabook users."
