SANTA CLARA, CA—JANUARY 4, 2006—NVIDIA corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, today announced its support for AMD’s vision to apply the power and flexibility of the PC to enable enhanced digital media experiences for digital entertainment. As part of this vision, AMD plans to extend the professional AMD LIVE! brand to full-featured consumer multimedia desktop and notebook PCs expected to be delivered in mid-2006.

"NVIDIA shares a strong bond with AMD to deliver consumers the most powerful solutions possible," said Scott Vouri, general manager of video products at NVIDIA. "Our strength in graphics and core-logic solutions can provide a compelling solution for today’s demanding digital media requirements, which include high-definition video playback, as well as high-resolution gaming. NVIDIA provides industry-leading solutions for playing, transferring, and storing entertainment content, and AMD’s vision for AMD LIVE! is a perfect complement to our focus on having PC technologies as the driving force accelerating the digital home."

NVIDIA expects that the NVIDIA GeForce FX, NVIDIA GeForce 6-Series and NVIDIA GeForce 7-Series desktop and notebook graphics processing units (GPUs) as well as the Company’s NVIDIA nForce4 core-logic solutions, will be complementary with AMD LIVE! This includes hardware and software for both 32-bit and 64-bit computing environments and industry-leading technologies such as NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU capability and NVIDIA Pure Video.
