Patriot ha annunciato la linea di memorie DDR5 denominata Signature DDR5 che include moduli in grado di differenziarsi sia per capacità di memorizzazione, da 8GB e 32GB, che per velocità effettiva.
A tal proposito Patriot ha sottolineato che i moduli Signature DDR5 attuali sono in grado di lavorare fino a 4800MHz ma sono in sviluppo varianti in grado di spingersi fino a 8400 MHz, e di assicurare una capacità di memorizzazione che può raggiungere i 256GB.
Le memorie Signature DDR5 di Patriot sono basate su un PCB di colore nero a 8 layer, e presentano una supportano una tensione di polarizzazione pari a 1.1V: oltre al boost prestazionale, quantificato in 75 punti percentuali da Patriot, rispetto alla generazione DDR4 garantiscono dunque un minor consumo di potenza.
Tra le feature delle memorie Signature DDR5 indicate dal produttore citiamo la dotazione di sensori di temperatura, finalizzati al monitoring e alla protezione dal surriscaldamento, e il supporto della funzionalità di ECC (Error Correcting Code).
La commercializzazione delle memorie Signature DDR5 di Patriot è pianificata nel corso del mese corrente. Il target attuale di tali prodotti è rappresentato dalle piattaforme Intel con CPU Core di dodicesima generazione ("Alder Lake") e chipset Z690.
