AGEIA annuncia una cpu PhysX per i notebook

AGEIA Technologies ha annunciato di recente - mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato in lingua originale - la realizzazione di un processore di classe PhysX per sistemi mobile: la nuova soluzione, siglata PhysX 100M, è finalizzata all'utilizzo con i notebook ad alte prestazioni, orientati al gaming.

In accordo al produttore, ciò che contribuisce maggiormente nel distinguere il processore PhysX 100M dalla versione corrispondente per computer desktop è rappresentato dalla gestione della potenza. Infatti il nuovo PhysX 100M, da un lato, consuma molto poco in condizioni di pieno carico (ovvero durante l'esecuzione dei game supportati, ndr) arrivando a dissipare poco meno di 10W, dall'altro è dotato di una esclusiva funzionalità che abilita la riduzione automatica della temperatura se questa raggiunge valori prossimi ad una soglia limite oppure se il chip è in stato di IDLE.

I processori PhysX 100M sono già sul mercato aperto ai notebook maker; saranno disponibili agli utenti nei prossimi notebook di fascia alta concepiti per il gaming estremo.
