E' arrivato oggi, come peraltro ampiamente anticipato, l'annuncio ufficiale della scheda grafica dual-gpu ATI Radeon HD 5970, che si presenta non
soltanto come la soluzione flag-ship della linea di video card DirectX 11 Ready ATI Radeon HD 5000 ma anche, e soprattutto, come la scheda grafica più veloce
di sempre in ambito consumer.
Con il comunicato stampa di rito AMD non illustra le specifiche dell'hardware, già presentate
sostanzialmente nei giorni scorsi, ma ne esalta le principali feature e funzionalità, come il supporto, oltreché di Microsoft DirectX 11, anche delle
tecnologie ATI Eyefinity, ATI Stream e ATI CrossFireX, tutte portate ai massimi livelli come non mai.
Ma le nuove ATI Radeon HD 5970 si fanno notare anche per le buone doti di longevità che derivano dalla propensione per l'overclocking, che viene stabilizzato
mediante un sistema di cooling basato sull tecnologia "vapor chamber" e esteso a tutti gli utenti in virtù della facilità di utilizzo dell'utility ATI
Overdrive.
ATI Radeon HD 5970 è pronta per i titoli con motore grafico DirectX 11 già sul mercato, ovvero BattleForge di EA Phenomic e S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of
Pripyat di GSC Game World, e per i prossimi in arrivo, tra cui Battlefield Bad Company 2 di EA DICE, DiRT 2 di Codemasters (disponibile il 1° Dicembre, conferma AMD, ndr), Aliens vs. Predator di Rebellion, The Lord of the Rings Online di Turbine e Dungeons and Dragons Online Eberron Unlimited della stessa Turbine.
