Con il comunicato stampa allegato di seguito, Gigabyte ha presentato al grande pubblico due nuove motherboard basate sul chip-set AMD 790FX ed appartenenti alla linea GIGABYTE 790FX: si tratta delle schede madri siglate GA-MA790FX-DQ6 e GA-MA790FX-DS5, visualizzate nell'immagine che segue.

Entrambe supportano i processori quad-core Phenom, soluzioni attualmente al top della gamma AMD per ambito desktop, e sono compatibili con la tecnologia ATI CrossFireX (per il gaming con multi-gpu); integrano inoltre un controller di memoria DDR2 1066 con collegamenti realizzati in tecnologia HyperTransport 3.0.

La GA-MA790FX-DQ6 è dotata di due slot PCI Express 2.0 x16 dual, anche se può funzionare in una modalità differente ed offrire all'utente quattro slot PCI Express 2.0 x8. La GA-MA790FX-DS5 rende disponibili, invece, soltanto due slot PCI Express 2.0 x16 dual.


Taipei, Taiwan, November 19, 2007 – GIGABYTE UNITED INC., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today is pleased to unveil their latest AMD 790FX Series motherboards including the GA-MA790FX-DQ6 and GA-MA790FX-DS5, featuring the AMD 790FX high performance chipset and support for the next generation AMD Phenom quad-core processors, providing overclockers and extreme power users the ultimate high-end power system.

In addition to supporting the latest AMD Phenom processors with AM2+ platform support, integrated DDR2 1066 memory controller, HyperTransport 3.0 technology links and 128-bit Floating Point Units, the GIGABYTE 790FX Series provide users the ultimate gaming experience with latest ATI CrossFireX technology support. For the GA-MA790FX-DQ6, dual PCI Express 2.0 x16 or four PCI Express 2.0 x8 connectivity is offered, while the GA-MA790FX-DS5 offers dual PCI Express 2.0 x16 connectivity, allowing the GIGABYTE 790FX Series to deliver exceptional graphics performance on a single display by combining the processing power of two or more Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), or extensive multi-monitor support for up to 8 independent displays. In addition, dual Gigabit LAN with Teaming functionality enables the GA-MA790FX-DQ6 to set two single connections as one, for twice the bandwidth, further improving overall throughput with lower CPU utilization.

The GIGABYTE 790FX Series also feature GIGABYTE's unique Ultra Durable 2 Technology. In addition to using All Solid Lower ESR Capacitors with SMD (Surface Mount Device) technology from leading Japanese manufacturers to provide enhanced system stability and ensuring a longer component lifespan, the GIGABYTE 790FX Series motherboards feature Lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, delivering lower power consumption during the switching process, resulting in a faster switching process and less heat generation. The GIGABYTE 790 Series motherboards also utilize higher quality Ferrite Core Chokes, whose properties hold energy much longer than common iron-core chokes at high frequency, providing reduced core energy loss and lower EMI interference for extended system reliability.

QuadBIOS
Quad BIOS is a unique GIGABYTE feature that includes DualBIOS and Xpress BIOS Rescue Technology. This combination delivers a safety assurance mechanism that sports a total of 4 copies of BIOS distributed between the Flash ROM, hard-disk and driver CD. This feature helps to reduce the affects of virus attacks or firmware damage and provides multi-layer BIOS protection that assures greater PC platform stability.

Quad Cooling
This revolutionary GIGABYTE Quad cooling design combines both Crazy Cool and the newly redesigned, all copper Silent-Pipe technologies in order to provide maximum cooling of the PCB around the CPU, the MOSFET modules, the north bridge and the south bridge. Quad Cooling allows users to enjoy longer component lifetime through lower temperatures and absolute silence combined with the ultimate thermal performance on chipsets, CPU power components and the PCB.
