BIOSTAR ha annunciato la motherboard ATX TPOWER X79, una soluzione, progettata ed indirizzata agli utenti "overlocker" e agli "enthusiast", compatibile con i nuovi processori "Sandy Bridge-E" di Intel con socket LGA-2011.
Basata sul chipset X79 Express di Intel, la TPOWER X79 promette quindi il meglio di se in condizioni di overclocking estremo: per ottenere una simile risposta BIOSTAR ha fatto ricorso a un VRM a 9 fasi, la cui stabilità termica è garantita da un cooler connesso, mediante heat-pipe, al dissipatore del chipset X79.
Come sempre accade con le motherboard X79-based, la TPOWER X79 gestisce la memoria RAM in modalità quad-channel: le frequenze operative standard previste per le DIMM di DDR3 sono pari a 1066MHz, 1333MHz e 1600MHz, mentre in condizioni di overclocking i moduli possono lavorare a 1866MHz, 2133MHz e 2400MHz rispettivamente.
Il set di slot di espansione della motherboard, che è compatibile con PCI-E 2.0 e supporta le topologie multi-gpu AMD CrossFireX e NVIDIA SLIA a tre vie, include tre PCI-Express x16, due PCI-Express x1 e uno PCI; tra i connettori per lo storage segnaliamo quattro porte SATA 6.0Gbps, tre SATA 3.0Gbps una Gigabit Ethernet, sei USB 3.0 e due USB 2.0.

The BIOSTAR TPOWER X79 supports the latest Intel LGA 2011 processor, with luxurious nine-phase power supply, large heat-radiating fins and heat-tube radiation for better thermal conductivity.
The TPOWER X79 supports four-channel memory which located on the two sides of CPU socket. The memory frequency supports standard 1066/1333/1600MHz, and can be overclocked to 1866/2133/2400MHz.
The extension slots consist of three PCI-E x16, two PCI-E x1 and one PCI; and CrossFireX, SLI and PCI-E 2.0 support.
The TPOWER X79 provides a Debug LED indicating lamp, buttons for booting, restarting and CMOS emptying; USB 3.0 extension insertion pins; seven SATA disk interfaces; and heat-radiating fins on the main chipset to ensure extreme overclocking and excellent system heat radiation.
